Welcome to the Lower Gwynedd Counseling page.  I am pleased to share information about the guidance program.  I look forward to working with students, parents, and teachers and welcome your suggestions and input.   I work with students individually, in small groups and in guidance classes. I collaborate with parents, teachers and other school personnel to help children succeed academically, emotionally and socially.  Working together is the key to the student’s success.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Further Program description: Wissahickon School District Elementary Counseling Program and Services.

GUIDANCE LESSONS

I teach every class for one Marking period (of 4) which is approximately 10 lessons.  The Elementary Curriculum reflects standards set at the National level.  The curriculum centers around three domains: academic, career, and personal/social.  For a list of grade level guidance topics: Wissachickon Elementary Guidance Curriculum

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

I am available to your child for counseling on a short term, individual basis.  Parents/Guardians can refer children by contacting me.

SMALL GROUP COUNSELING

Small groups and clubs are offered throughout the school year and are determined by need.  Groups meet weekly for 30 minutes; the number of sessions varies.  Small groups focus on developing skills and giving support to the students.  Topics offered include: social skills, lunch clubs, family changes, assertiveness, self control and anger management, building self esteem and problem solving skills. Information about small groups will go home as groups form.  Parent/Guardian signed permission is required for participation.

CHILD STUDY/WIN TEAM

I serve as the coordinator for the Lower Gwynedd Child Study and Win team. The purpose of the team is to develop specific goals and strategies to address the needs of an individual student. Parents, teachers and other involved school personnel work together to plan for growth. More information: Child Study Team/WIN
